A collaboration between Charles Bernstein, who contributed the text, and Susan Bee (Laufer), who contributed the cover and treated photographs, The Occurrence of Tune was published by James Sherry's Segue Books (New York) in 1981. Edition size unknown. The book was included, reset and without the illustrations, in the Sun & Moon collection Republics of Reality: 1975-1995 (Los Angeles, 1996).
