Mayer's first book, STORY was published by 0 to 9 Press (New York) in 1968. 8.5 x 11 inch trim; red laid-line card-stock covers; side-stapled; mimeographed. Many copies have erroneous blank versos (the copy used for the Kraus reprint of the press, for instance, is missing the second page); in the copy scanned here, the verso of the eighth leaf (beginning "floats, and names river sites") was blank; it has been interpolated from a different copy.
